Installation Overview
The FRx client program can be installed on individual workstations for each user (fat client), or installed to a network directory and then shared among multiple users (thin client).

A fat client installation is typically used for single-user licenses, or to minimize network dependency. The thin client installation is the most common configuration in a multi-user environment because it minimizes the amount of disk space that is used on the client workstations, and makes maintenance and upgrades easier. In most cases, a thin client installation is recommended.

Note: Do not run any FRx programs while installing FRx.

Microsoft Data Access Components 2.8 (MDAC):
MDAC 2.8 may need to be installed on workstations running Windows XP service pack 2 or prior. Run the installation from the FRx 6.7 installation CD. At the Welcome to FRx Installation Browser window, click Installation Prerequisites, Microsoft Data Access Components 2.8.

Installation Documentation:
View the complete system requirements and installation instructions from the FRx 6.7 installation CD. At the Welcome to FRx Installation Browser window, click View Help Documents. Click System Requirements and FRx 6.7 Installation and Configuration Guide.

Upgrades:
In order to upgrade to FRx 6.7, a prior version of FRx 5.5, 6.0, or 6.5 must exist on the workstation or server. This is the recommended method to migrate reports, company information, and registration keys. If the automatic upgrade process fails, export, update and import a TDB file for each spec set. For more information, see How to upgrade existing FRx Export (.TDB) files.
