FRx Indexes (*.g32 files) can be set to automatically rebuild as follows:

  1. Launch FRx Report Designer.
  2. On the Admin menu, click 'System Preferences', and select the 'Automatic GL Index' Rebuild check box.
    • When the Automatic GL Index Rebuild option is selected, FRx rebuilds indexes once daily when setting a company as default, generating a report, building a row format from the chart of accounts, or building a reporting tree from the chart of accounts.
    • If the Automatic GL Index Rebuild option is not selected, or there have been changes to some of the information typically stored in the GL Index file (for example, calendar information, account setup information, and so forth), or there are some errors when building the GL indexes, then the indexes can be manually rebuilt in two different ways as described below.

Note: Manually deleting the index files may work when other methods fail.

Rebuilding from within the FRx Report Designer interface:

  1. Launch FRx Report Designer.
  2. On the Admin menu, click 'Build Local GL Index'.
  3. Click 'Yes' at the prompt, "Building the GL index will take time. Do you want to build the GL index for FDM now?" This rebuilds the GL index for the default company.

Manually deleting the files to force a rebuild when setting a company as default:

  1. On the Admin menu, click 'Organization', and click the 'SysData' button.  The 'Current Directory' box lists the path to the FRx index.
  2. Note the location.
  3. Close FRx.
  4. Open Windows Explorer, and browse to the location of the SysData file.
  5. Open the SysData file, and delete all files that have a .G32 extension.
  6. Launch FRx.
  7. Set each of the companies as default. This creates  new index for each company when it is set as default.
