Locate and select values within a Select Value list

Select Value pop-up lists allow you to select values to filter reports or columns with and some contain hundreds of items. To make it easier to locate the values you want to use, follow these instructions.

Select Value lists can be displayed on the Variable Entry screen or within a report.  To display a Select Values list in a filter dialog, click the pop-up list icon (see highlighted red circle below) in that field.

To enter a specific value without picking from the list

If you know the exact value you want (for example, a transaction number or customer account ID) it is not necessary to pick it from the Select Values list.  Instead you can type the value.

Use a wildcard search in the Select Values list
If the list of values in the box is long you can use a special filter option with a character string and wildcard character to locate value(s). See graphic below. To do this:

To remove a value from the selection list
If you have added a value to the Selections list (on the right) to use as a filter, but decide you do not want to including it, you can remove it following these steps:
