Subject:
How to import and export catalogs, rows, columns and trees in FRx. Non registered versions of FRx (FRx Standard) will not have this functionality.
Possible Resolution:
Export
- Under Company / Specification Sets
- Select the correct specification set using the Find button.
- Click the Export button.
- Select all or some of the building blocks to export
- This will create an frxexp.tdb file in the IO_DATA file
Import
- Under Company / Specification
- Select the correct specification set by using the Find button
- Click the Import button.
- Browse to the .TDB file to import.
- Save the specification set after importing.
Note: Only .TDB (temporary database) files from the same version can be imported into FRx. An earlier release of FRx imported into a newer release is not supported and is not guaranteed to work correctly. This process is not allowed because later releases of FRx often have an updated database structure. Importing an older .TDB file into a later release prevents new fields and updates from being added to the reports, which may cause errors, performance issues, or any number of other problems later. At the same token, a newer release of FRx can not be imported in to a earlier release. Importing reports ae not backwards compatibility. This is not supported by FRx.
There is a tool that will update your .TDB from an earlier release of FRx and allow you to safely import this into FRx 6.7 (this is only available for FRx 6.7). For more information, see How to upgrade existing FRx Export (.TDB) files
