How to upgrade existing FRx export (.TDB) files

The FRx TDB Updater program converts existing FRx export (.TDB) files into FRx version 6.7. Export files from FRx version 5.5, 6.0, and 6.5 can be updated. The TDB Updater program adds new fields and performs the required updates that allow the .TDB file or files to be imported into FRx version 6.7 without causing issues with the reports.

Notes:

• Use caution when working with this tool. Always make a backup first of the FRx files, directories, and databases.
• Before using FRx TDB Updater, please read the FRx Tools EULA document included with the program.
• FRx TDB Updater does not modify the original .TDB files. When the update is started, the program creates a ..\NewFiles subdirectory. Each .TDB file is copied to this subdirectory, and the updated file has "67" added to the end of the file name.

For example: If FRXEXP.TDB and FRxReports.TDB are copied to the directory and updated, the ..\NewFiles subdirectory contains FRXEXP67.TDB and FRxReports67.TDB after the update.

How to use the FRx TDB Updater:

1. Save FRxTDBUpdater.exe to any directory.
2. Copy one or more .TDB files to the directory that contains the .EXE file.
3. Double-click FRxTDBUpdater.exe.
4. Click Update TDBs to start the update process. A message occurs as each file is updated. Large files may take a while. Do not close the program until the updates complete.

The new files are created in the ..\NewFiles subdirectory (see note above). The old files are left untouched. Only the files from the ..\NewFiles subdirectory should be imported into FRx version 6.7.

Note: In addition to the files required by all versions of FRx, the following files must exist for FRx TDB Updater to run:

• FRxdbSync.dll (installed with FRx 6.7).
• Msjro.dll (should already exist  installed by MDAC 2.7 & 2.8).
