How to upgrade your edition of Sage 50—Canadian Edition ?

Upgrading your version of Sage 50—Canadian Edition should not require reinstallation of your software. When you purchase an upgraded version of Sage 50—Canadian Edition, you will receive the following information that we will use:

Company Name
Account ID
Serial Number
Key Code

With these keys, we can unlock the version of Sage 50—Canadian Edition that you want.

Please note that this is only for the same year version of Sage Simply Accounting. (Example: Sage 50 Pro Accounting 2013 to Sage 50 Premium Accounting 2013. Going from Sage Simply Accounting Pro 2012 to Sage 50 Pro Accounting 2013 will require a full installation of the 2013 software.)

To upgrade your version:

  • Open Sage 50 with any company file. If you do not have a company file, use the Sample Company.

  • Go to the Help menu and select Upgrade Your Sage 50 Product.

  • Remove the Serial Number and Key Code from the boxes that appear, and replace them with the new serial number and key code that you’ve been supplied with.

  • Press OK, and it will state which version of Sage 50 that you’ve activated. It will want to restart Sage 50, and it will do so in the upgraded version.

NOTES:

  • Upgrading to the Accountant Edition will require uninstalling the program and reinstalling – it cannot be upgraded with the above steps.

  • You cannot downgrade a version of Simply Accounting (Example: Sage 50 Premium Accounting 2013 to Sage 50 Pro Accounting 2013.) Should you need to do this, please uninstall and reinstall the program with the codes you need to use.
