How to customize Reporting Groups in Sage MAS Intelligence

The steps below require the Report Designer license and proficiency  with custom report design in Sage MAS Intelligence.

  1. Open Report Manager
  2. Right Click on Home folder and select Add Folder
  3. Enter a new folder name such as Custom Reports
  4. Expand the Home and Report Designer folder
  5. Right Click on Financial Reports Designer 2-0(MAS) report and select Copy
  6. Paste into the folder created above
  7. Click on the Columns tab and determine which column you would like to use as a Primary Grouping. For example, MainAccountDesc
  8. On the Properties tab, select the 'Show Advanced' checkbox
  9. In the Run Add-Ins, select the elipsis button and select the ExcelGenieAlchemexAddin.CustomMapAccountCategories
  10. In the Specify Function Parameters screen, enter the column you will be using for grouping.  For example, MainAccountDesc and click OK
  11. Generate the copied report
  12. When the 'Map your System Categories into Reporting Groups' launches, highligh one of the existing Reporting Groups and key ALT-D
  13. Use the + button to add new Reporting Groups and the - button to remove existing groups
  14. Once Complete, map your Main Accounts to the appropriate Reporting Groups
  15. Click OK twice
  16. Select the BI Tools ribbon and click on the Launch button
  17. Click on New Layout to create a new report or click Load Layout to Copy an existing Layout.  Note if using an existing layout, the Row grouping will need to be cleared and the new Reporting Groups selected. 
  18. Continue designing the report and click Generate Layout
  19. Once report design is complete, select File/Save As and save the workbook to your desktop
  20. Leave Excel workbook open and go back into Report Manager
  21. Right click on the Copy of the Financial Reports Designer 2-0(MAS) created above
  22. Select Create and Link Template
  23. Select the Workbook to Convert to Template and click OK
  24. Click Yes to option for Parameters on the Second Worksheet set
  25. Click Ok to the Template name or enter new template name if needed.  Click Yes to override if using the same template name
  26. Click OK to The template was created successfully and linked to the report.
