Possible Resolution:

This is a known issue reported to FRx. "SMR 23482:Error 5 When Exporting to Excel (.XLS) and Exporting Formulas.
Issue resolved in Service Pack R10670. (Service Pack 10)

Check the report for the following:

• The Report may have a PI row used in conjunction with a CALC column.
• The error occurs when exporting to Excel (.XLS) and the option to export formulas is selected.
• In the Catalog, Report Options, Acct/Tran Detail modify the Sort GL accounts by option from Natural code to Full account or turn off sort by.

To resolve apply the latest Service Pack.
