How to Get a Suppressed Row to Show in the Summary of a Tree without Having it Rollup
Entry Type: Informational
Product: FRx
Application: FRx Desktop
Version Reported: 6.74
Subject:
In some situations certain accounts may need to be suppressed from rolling up in a Tree but still needs to be shown at the summary level.
Possible Resolution:
- Open the row format for the report and create an additional GL link by going to the Link menu, select Open Link Window, click the New button, Then select General Ledger as the Link Type and click Save. An Additional GL link column will appear in the row format.
- Add the account that you do not want to rollup to both+Link to General Ledge? columns in the row. You will want to use the full account mask for that row. I.e.: 4100-????-???. If you just use the natural account you will receive a different number for every unit of the tree
- Go to column F, Print Control, of this row and click the Zoom button. Select the XR (Supress Rollup) option. This tells FRx to suppress the row from rolling up to the summary units in the Tree.
- Open your Tree and for each summary unit there will need to be an account mask in column G. The account mask will need to contain all wild cards for each of the sements except the segment containing the natural or account number. For example if an account structure has 3 segments and the 1st is the natural then the mask would look like this &&&&-????-???. This will need to be put in for each summary level unit that the suppressed account will need to show up in.
- Still in the Tree go to column I, Row Format, and click the Zoom button and choose the row format that was modified earlier to have 2 GL links. Select this Row format for every unit in the Tree.
- Now go to column Q, Row Link, in the Tree and click the Zoom button. For each of the summary units select GL2 or the appropriat link name for the 2nd GL link in the row format. For each of the child units in the Tree select GL1or the appropriat link name for the 1st GL link in the row format.
- Go to the Catalog for this report and select the option to Use row format(s) and worksheet links from reporting tree.
- Save all the changes and generate the report. Notice that the child units and summary units have the same amount for the row that was suppressed in the row format.
