"Source: FSMAS9065 Error 8900: A direct link error has occurred while retrieving transaction information from the database" when generating a Provisional: Posted + Unposted Activity report in FRx

Subject:

"Source: FSMAS9065 Error 8900: A direct link error has occurred while retrieving transaction information from the database" occurs when generating a Provisional: Posted + Unposted Activity report in FRx. The issue occurs when using FRx with Sage MAS 90 or 200 4.30.

Steps to Duplicate:

In ABC company in Sage MAS 90 or 200 4.30:

1. Create a balanced General Journal entry. For details, see How to post and update Journal Entries
2. On the FRx File menu, point to Open, and then click Row.
3. Click New.
4. On the Edit menu, click Add Rows from Chart of Accounts.
5. Click OK.
6. Click the Save button, and enter a name and description.
7. On the File menu, point to Open, and click Column.
8. Click New, and enter the following:
• Column A = Desc
• Column B = GL
• Column C = GL Change CUR to YTD
9. Click the Save button, and enter a name and description.
10. On the File menu, point to Open, and click Catalog.
11. Click New.
12. Enter a catalog ID and description.
13. In the Provisional list, select Provisional: Posted + Unposted Activity.
14. Select the row and column created above.
15. Click the Save button.
16. Click Generate Report. Note that "Source: FSMAS9065 Error 8900: A Direct Link Error has occurred while retrieving transaction information from the database" appears.
17. Click OK. The report generates without the unposted data.

Expected Behavior:

The report should generate without error.

Possible Workaround:

Use either the General Journal or Transaction Journal task to post the information.
