How to lock and unlock FRx Report Designer components

Possible Resolution:

A report component can be opened and saved with a new name without altering the original locked information. When a user encounters a locked component, a dialog box identifies the component as locked and requires a password. If the password is unknown, click the Read Only button to gain access. Changes can be made, but the building block must be saved with a different name.

To lock a component:

1. Open FRx, and open the building block to be locked.
2. Click the Lock/Unlock button, or select Locked on the Admin menu.
3. In the Password window, enter the password that applies to the protected building block. Verify the password, and click OK.
4. Save the component. The building block is now locked, and cannot be changed unless the correct password is entered.

To disable or enable locked components:

1. Open FRx Desktop.
2. On the Admin menu, click System Preferences.
3. Clear the Turn Off Component Passwords check box to enable the lock. Select the Turn Off Component Passwords to disable the option.
