"Error: 3044 '(path)' isn't a valid path..." when setting company as default in FRx

"Error: 3044 '(path)' isn't a valid path. Make sure that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to the server on which the file resides" occurs when setting company as default in FRx.

Possible Resolution:

If you are setting the FilmWorks (FW) company as default, the path or file name listed on the 'System Specific' tab is invalid.

  1. Open Company / Information.
  2. Select the 'FW' company.
  3. Click the 'System Specific Information' tab.
  4. In the 'Database Name:' field, enter the path to the 'frlspl32.mdb' file in the \IO_Data\ directory.
  5. Click 'Save'.

If setting a production (live) company as default, the frx32.cfg file points to an invalid \sysdata\ directory.

  1. Using Notepad, open the frx32.cfg file.
  2. For the 'Directory line' in the [SYSDATA] section, enter the path to the \Sysdata\ directory.
    Note: The path should end with a single backslash (for example: \\ServerName\Program Files\FRx Financial Reporter 6.5\SysData\).
  3. Select File / Save.
