"<Building block> is in use by <User>."

Subject:

"<Building block> is in use by <User>."

In the error, <Building block> references one of the following: Row Format, Column Layout, Reporting Tree and <User> is a user name.

Possible Resolution:

  1. Verify that the building block is not open on another computer. If it is, wait for the user to finish, or have the user close the building block.
  2. If the building block is not open on any machine, have all users close FRx.
  3. Select File / Close All.  This will close all open rows, columns, trees, and catalogs.
  4. Select File / Compact FRx Database, and then click 'Current Spec Set Database'.
  5. If the spec set compacts successfully, open the problematic building block again. If the spec set fails to compact successfully, or compacting does not resolve the error,  delete the .ldb files from the SysData directory
