"Error:  You have exceeded the maximum number of users"when launching FRx

"Error:  You have exceeded the maximum number of users", when launching FRx

Possible Resolution: 

Resolution 1:

  1. Verify that other users are not in FRx
  2. Open the FRXSYS32.LDB file located in the ..\Sysdata directory using Notepad.
  3. Note the workstation name listed in the first column (the "Admin" username listed is not important; this is only the user that FRx uses to connect to its system files).
  4. Close all applications on the workstation noted in step three.

User connections can only be closed from the server. To do so, reboot the server or follow the instructions below:

Windows NT Server 4.0:

  1. Open Start / Settings / Control Panel.
  2. Double-click on the Server icon.
  3. Click on the Users  button.
  4. Click on any connection with a computer name that matches the one noted above, then click the Disconnect button.
  5. Repeat step 4 for ALL open connections from the computer.

Windows 2000 Server:

  1. Open Start / Settings / Control Panel.
  2. Double-click the Administrative Tools icon.
  3. Double-click the Computer Management icon.
  4. Select Shared Folders under the System Tools tree, and then click on Sessions.
  5. Right-click on any connection with a computer name that matches the one noted above, and then click Close Session.
  6. Repeat step 5 for ALL open connections from the same computer.

Resolution 2: Remove all the *.ldb files from the ..\Sysdata folder.
