Note: Sage Customer Support is not responsible for assisting in these tasks. Assistance by a qualified Network Administrator may be necessary.
Steps you can use to increase F9 performance include the following:
- Configure your anti-virus protection software to ignore and not filter data from General Ledger.
- Financials Entities Setup:
- Start F9 setup. Click Financial Entities Setup.
- Point F9 to the GL Company Data Path, or select Other and set the path locally.
- Select the Use the Financial Entities File to Generate List of Segments check box.
- Click Create New Financial Entities File and OK.
- List of Segments Generation:
- Start F9 Setup. Select Company.
- Click Options. Select GL Company Data Path or select Other.
- Select the Use the Financial Entities File to Generate List of Segments check box.
- Expand F9, Tools, and Maintain Financial Entities. Click Refresh/Build Entities File.
- Disable NTFS security.
- If F9.ini contains a mapped drive, use a UNC instead. Compare the F9.ini from a fast-access system.
- Log in as someone else or administrator. See if performance is any better. This will eliminate permission and rights issues as a cause.
- Move another workstation to this connection point. If performance is still poor, there is a network cable or router problem.
- Move the slow-access system to another cable. Retry with a different user. If performance is good, there is a network cable or router problem. If performance is the same, try a new network card.
- If the network is isolated as a source of the slowdown, copy the data files to the local workstation, then use F9 Setup to point F9 to the local data files.
