How to add a custom column name to a new layout in SMI Report Designer.

Possible Resolution:

  1. Expand MAS Intelligence, Tools, Report Manager.
  2. Expand the Designer Folder. Copy Financial Reports Designer 2-3 (MAS 500) and Paste into new Folder.
  3. Run the Copy of Financial Reports Designer 2-3 Report.
  4. Enter the Report Parameters: Financial Year = 2008. Budget Set = 2. Click 'OK'.
  5. In Excel, unhide the data sheet (Sheet 1).
  6. Insert a column in your data sheet. Make sure that the 'PrimaryGrouping' column is the last column in the data sheet.
  7. Add your information into the column. Add a Heading "LastPeriod".
  8. Select the entire column and then click on the Formulas Tab in Excel.
  9. Select Name Manager.
  10. The Name Manager box will appear. Select New.
  11. The New Name dialogue box will appear. Select sheet1 from the Scope dropdown menu and click on OK.
  12. The Custom Column now appears under the name field and the Scope is set to Sheet1. Click Close.
  13. Launch the Report Designer from the BI Tools tab in Excel and select the new layout.
  14. Click on the Columns tab and select the newly added Custom Column. Select any Text Column and Row.
  15. Generate Layout.
