How to use the Security Manager for Sage MAS Intelligence.Possible Resolution:
The Security Manager module is used to configure the security level of the Sage MAS Intelligence reports according to your organizations requirements. This task allows the user to assign permissions and roles for certain functions at a report level. Once you have configured the Security you should ensure that the Security enabled property is set to 'ON' so that the Security configurations are enforced. Note: Once you have enabled the Security for Sage MAS Intelligence, you will be prompted for the password whenever you launch the Security Manager task.
Setting Report Security by User:
- Report Level Security is User/Company specific.
- By default, Report Level Security at installation is switched off and must be switched on within the Security Manager to take effect.
- Only users added to the Administrative role are allowed to add, edit, or delete reports within the Report Manager.
- The list of users within Sage ERP MAS 500 is synchronized with the list of users in the Security Manager.
- In order to see users in the Security Manager, a user must login to the MAS 500 business desktop for each Company. Once they launch the SMI Security Task, a verification will be performed to check and see if the user is on the Security list. The user is added to the list if not already there. After each user has logged into a specific company in MAS 500 and launched the SMI Security Manager task, then you will see them in the users list.
- The user list for the Security Manager is stored in the central metadata repository location in a file called Alchemex.svd. This file is an encrypted Access database file.
Selecting Reports:
- To make a report visible in the Report Viewer, select the 'Make Available in Menus' check box on the 'Properties' tab of the report.
- Select the 'Show Advanced' check box to access this check box.
- The Report Description as added in the Report Manager is important because this description is displayed in the Report Viewer.
