Is the ability to create Reporting Trees included in the Sage MAS Intelligence installation?

Possible Resolution:

Reporting Trees in FRx:

Most organizations have a hierarchical structure in which departments (or other business units) report to one or more higher-level units.  In a traditional organization chart, the lower units on the chart typically report up to increasingly higher units.

FRx uses the term "reporting unit' for each of the units in an organizational chart. A reporting unit can be an individual department from the General Ledger, or it can be a higher level (summary) unit that combines information from other reporting units.

Each Reporting unit represents an individual report that contains rows from a row format and columns from a column format. The Reporting Tree contains a group of reporting units. You are then allowed to easily add or change reporting units without requiring a change to the General Ledger. A FRx reporting tree consists of parent reporting units and child reporting units.

Reporting Trees in Sage MAS Intelligence:

Our Sage MAS Intelligence Development team is in the process of designing and implementing a Reporting Tree add-on feature for the current Sage MAS Intelligence Report Designer product.

This feature will allow the user to do the following:

  1. Run Report Designer from Report Manager
  2. Create a Reporting Tree
  3. Specify Reporting Tree Units
  4. Specify Account Filtering rules per Tree Unit
  5. Save Reporting Tree for future re-use
  6. Link a Reporting Tree to a Designer Layout
  7. Generate the Designer Layout
  8. Select the Reporting Tree Units to generate
  9. View each reporting unit as a separate worksheet within a current workbook.

The goal is to create a Reporting Tree functionality that is powerful enough to cater to the majority of FRx user's needs.

Additional information on Release Dates and Specification Specs will be released in the near future.
