"ServerXXXXX is not a valid SQL Server Instance" when selecting a database name during install
Entry Type: Informational
Product: Sage MAS 500 ERP
Application: Installation
Version Reported: 7.3
Subject:
"ServerXXXXX is not a valid SQL Server Instance" when selecting a database name during install of the server side components for Sage MAS Intelligence
Possible Resolution:
The Sage MAS Intelligence (SMI) installation server side program must be installed and run directly onto the production SQL Server machine. The SMI installation program will return this error message if it was installed on a machine other than the production SQL Server during the time when selecting the Server and database names.
Uninstall the (SMI) installation server side program from the foreign machine and reinstall directly on the production SQL Server and proceed with the installation process.
