In ABC company:

In Sage MAS 90:

1. Open General Ledger / Setup / Account Structure Maintenance
2. Enter the following and click Accept:
• Segment 1: Alphanumeric, 4, Main
• Segment 2: Alphanumeric, 2, Department
• Segment 3: Alphanumeric, 3, Location
• Segment 4: Alphanumeric, 1, Test
• Segment 5: Alphanumeric, 2, Market
3. Click 'Yes' to "You have made a change to one or more of the components..."
4. Click Next at the Accounts Structure Change Wizard
5. Select 'At the End' from the Where should the zeros be placed?
6. Click Next and Finish
7. Open General Ledger / Setup / Sub Account Maintenance
8. Create the following Segments
1. Segment Test
• 1- North America
• 2- APAC
• 3- EMEA
• 4- Latin America
2. Segment Market
• CC
• CI
• CR
• GF
• GO
9. Open General Ledger / Utilities / Generate Accounts
10. Select Main account 5080 and click Proceed
11. Click 'Yes' to "Based upon the parameters entered, a maximum of 1,980 accounts may be generated.  Do you want to continue?"

In Sage MAS Intelligence

1. Open Report Manager
2. Highlight Financial Reports Designer 2-0 and click Run
3. Enter Fiscal Year 2010 and Budget Code ORIGINAL and click OK
4. Map the system categories
5. Click on the BI Tools tab
6. From the Quick Edit dropdown, select IS- Actual vs Budget
7. In the Columns section select Clear Add and then add the following
• ActivityYTD
• BudgetYTD
• Spacer
• Var AB YTD
• Var AB % YTD
8. In the Group By click the Select button and select Segment03Code
9. Click General Layout
10. ClickOk to the Layout generated successfully
11. In Report Manager, copy the Financial Reports Designer 2-0 and paste in Designer folder
12. Click ok to the Copy of template name
13. Highlight the Copy of Financial Reports Designer 2-0
14. Right Click on select Create and Link Template
15. Select the Financials Reports Designer 2-0(MAS) 1 and click OK
16. Click Yes to 'This report has the Option to Place Parameters on the Second Worksheet..."
17. Click Ok to Specify Template Name and Yes to replace file if necessary
18. Click Ok when the template is created successfully
19. Using Windows Explorer, browse to your Network Repository\Templates directory
20. Locate the template created and note the size is approximately 9.33MB
21. In Report Manager, highlight the Copy of Financial Reports Designer 2-0 and select Run
22. Enter Fiscal Year 2010 and Budget Code ORIGINAL and click OK
23. Note the report takes 20-30 minutes to generate.

 Expected Behavior:

Grouping the column by a segment should not slow down the report generation or increase the template size.
