Possible Resolution:

Open the original report and compare the parameter fields with the copied report.  Verify all the parameter fields are there.  If a parameter field is missing, add it back.

The reason the error occurs is because,  the parameter field is a pass through variable.  This query in the container relies on the pass through variables and if it is taken out, you will receive the error.

 Instead of deleting the parameter,  users can change the values of the parameter by using filters.
