"Spec set database not valid for this installation or system type"
** INTERNAL ONLY **
Entry Type: Informational
Product: FRx
Application: n/a
Version reported: All
Subject:
"Spec set database not valid for this installation or system type" in various tasks
Possible Resolution:
This error occurs when setting FW as default. This error may also occur when changing the FRxDemo spec set to its correct location (FRxDemo.F32).
In order to resolve this issue, the following steps must be completed:
- Send the customer the FRxReset utility and the FRx password of the day.
- Have the customer place the FRxReset.exe file into the directory containing the FRx executables. Run the FRxReset utility (double-click to execute)
This utility will re-sync the FRxDemo spec set and the FRx System database.
If this does not correct the error:
- Have the customer send their FRxSys32.mdb file.
- Open the FRxSys32.mdb file in Microsoft Access 97 or 2000.
- Open the Company table and locate the FW company.
- Scroll to the right to find the FT4 field. Verify that this field is set to FRxDemo and not StdFRxDemo, then close the Company table.
- Open the Spec_Set_Master table and locate the FRxDemo specification set.
- In the Spec_Set_Location field, change the filename at the end from FRxRpts.F32 to FRxDemo.F32.
- Send the customer the modified FRxSys32.MDB, the FRxReset utility (see attached zip file below), and the password of the day.
- Have the customer rename their existing FRxSys32.MDB file then save the new FRxSys32.MDB file into the FRx Sysdata directory and the FRxReset.exe file into the directory containing the FRx executables.
- Run theFRxReset utility. This utility will re-sync the FRxDemo spec set and the FRx System database.
The customer should now be able to set the FW company as default and access demo reports
Note: The FRxReset file creates the FW and FWC company (which does not exist in FRx for Sage MAS 90 by default) the next time the customer launches the program.
