Possible Resolution:

The following instructions explain how to stop this problem, as well as how to repopulate the (Manufacturing) Mfg code without having to ask for the FRXSYS32.MDB file.This process does not affect Companies, Specification Sets, or Reports.Have ALL Microsoft FRx users close out of Microsoft FRx.

1. Check for .FRX files in the Microsoft FRx directory of ALL machines that have Microsoft FRx installed. 
1. In a fat client setup with 5 workstations, for example, all 5 workstations would need to be checked.
2. In a thin client setup, only the server would need to be checked.
2. If any .FRX files are found, delete them.If none of these files are found on ANY machine, proceed to step 4.
3. Create a new text file in the Microsoft FRx directory on any of the machines running Microsoft FRx, but only one. (Rright-click in the Explorer window, select New, then click on Text Document).
4. Edit the new text file using Notepad/Wordpad and type the default two-letter Microsoft FRx product code, in CAPITAL letters, for the customer's vendor. (ie, AD for Microsoft FRx Desktop, ST for Microsoft FRx Desktop Standard, etc).Do not press enter, spacebar, or any other key after the two letters.
   IMPORTANT NOTE: Even if the customer purchased an upgraded Microsoft FRx Product, the default product code for that customer's vendor should be entered.(ie, an Epicor user that purchased Microsoft FRx Professional would still enter AD).The registration numbers the customer is given will upgrade the product accordingly.
5. Save the file and exit out of Notepad/Wordpad.
6. On the Tools Menu, click Options and then click the View tab. Verify that the Hide file extensions for known file types option is not selected.
7. Right click on the text document, click on Rename , and name it "frxini32.tmp".Click Yes when asked to verify the change to the file extension.
8. Launch Microsoft FRx Designer.You will receive two errors - "Loading of companies for sample data failed.Companies will need to be loaded manually.", then "Error 20: Resume without error."Click OK on both of these - Microsoft FRx will exit.
9. Launch Microsoft FRx Designer again.The customer should now see the manufacturing code in the Organization screen, after which the registration information will need to be re-entered.
