In Sage MAS 500 there are two ways to set up a statistical account:
- Posting type
- Non-financial account group
Posting Type
- This option allows the use of existing accounts within the chart of accounts. The posting type in Maintain Accounts determines if the account is financial, statistical, or both.
- A nonfinancial account group is not required.
- When statistical amounts are posted, Sage MAS 500 records the positive or negative amount in a Statistical Unit column in the tglAcctHist table.
Non-Financial Account Group
- The account group is defined in Maintain Natural Accounts.
- Only statistical amounts can be posted to these accounts.
- When the Financial posting type is selected, Sage MAS 500 posts the absolute value to either the debit or credit column of the tglAcctHist table.
- When the Statistical posting type is selected, Sage MAS 500 records the positive or negative amount in a Statistical Unit column in the tglAcctHist table.
FRx statistical data setup
- Click row format, and enter the General Ledger account number.
- For the column format:
- If the posting type is Statistical, select the Statistical book code.
- If the posting type is Financial (therefore, the account group is nonfinancial) select the Actual book code.
