Possible Resolution:

Correct an invalid path, or set sufficient permissions to a network directory or resource, or verify that a network resource is available:

  1. Click Windows Start and Run.
  2. Type frx.ini. Click OK.
  3. Find LastCompany=.
  4. Remove the text after the equal sign.
  5. Save and close the file.
  6. Start FRx Designer.
  7. If the error occurs again, open the frx.ini file again. Note the path after WorkDrive=.
  8. Start FRx Designer. Click Cancel when prompted to select a company.
  9. Click Admin and Processing Options. Note the path for Optional Work Drive. Click Cancel.
  10. Click Company and Information. Note the path for Import/Export Path. Click Close.
  11. If the error occurs while generating a report, open the catalog for the problematic report.
  12. Click Output.
  13. Note the path for File Name. This is the output path. If only a file name is listed, the output path and the import and export path are the same. Close the catalog.
  14. If one or more of the paths obtained above are located on a network server, verify that the server is up and running without errors.
  15. If one or more of the paths obtained above are located on a network server, verify that the server is accessible from the computer receiving the error.
  16. Verify that the work drive path is valid and correct. If it is not, update the path. This path may be updated from the Processing Options window or by modifying the frx.ini file.
  17. Verify that the import/export and output paths are valid and correct. If one or more of these paths are invalid or incorrect, update them.
  18. Log on to the computer with an account that has administrative rights.
  19. Log out of the machine. Log on as a user. If the error still occurs, the user has insufficient permissions for one or more of the noted paths. Check the permissions for each directory, and grant permissions where necessary. Users must have Read, Read, Execute, Write, and Modify permissions for each of the paths noted above. Grant the necessary permissions and the user should no longer receive the error.
  20. If the error persists, restart the server as soon as possible.
