"Run-time Error 6: Overflow" when generating a report

"Run-time Error 6: Overflow" occurs when generating a report if running Posted and Unposted Transactions.

Usually this issue is related to the Unposted Transactions. When running the report for posted balances only, no errors occur. Review the following for the unposted data:

• Invalid characters or strings on the dollar amounts
• Large numerical values on the line items under Journal Batch Entry.
1. Expand General Ledger, File Maintenance, and Transaction File Maintenance.
2. Double-click Transaction Journal Batch Detail.
3. Click the Lookup button.
4. Scroll through the records to locate a large numerical or digit amount.
5. Resolve the issue, and generate the report.
