"There is a Circular Reference (or Invalid Total) in Column [Column].  Processing will continue, but these Column calculation Totals will be incorrect." in FRx

Entry Type: Informational

Product: FRx

Application: n/a

Version Reported: 6.00

Subject:
This error occurs when generating a report.  The column referred to in the error contains a formula that is causing a circular reference, or a column referenced in a formula was deleted.

Examples of circular references:

Deleting a column that is referenced in a formula causes FRx to insert an @ symbol in the formula in place of the column letter.  For example, if column C uses a formula of D+E, but column E is deleted, FRx will change the formula to D+@.

Possible Resolution:

  1. Open the column layout for the problematic report.
  2. Examine the formula in each column.  Verify that none of the columns are referencing themselves either directly or indirectly.
  3. Correct any columns that contain an @ symbol in the formula.

If the above does not resolve the error

  1. Open the problematic report.
  2. Select 'Report Options' tab.
  3. Select 'Acct/Tran Detail' tab.
  4. Uncheck 'Suppress CBR calculation'.
