"Runtime error 32797: Application Defined or Object Defined Error" when starting FRx after installing a service pack.
Possible Resolution:
This error occurs because Crystal Reports version 8 applies pessimistic registry permissions during the installation process. To resolve, download and install the Registry Permissions Restoration Utility (scr8_webregfix.exe) from the Business Objects Web site. (See the link below.) After applying the utility, browse to your FRx installation folder, and double-click the FRxReg.exe file.
Note: The Business Objects Web site indicates that the utility applies only to build 8.0.0.371; however, it can be used for any Crystal Reports version 8 release.
