Subject:
"(CheckOFSIConnection)40002: 28000 [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user 'User Name'."

Possible Resolution(s):

  1. Select  Company / Information / System Specific Information and select 'Define'
  2. Go to the 'System DSN' tab, select the DSN and select 'Configure'
  3. Verify the correct server is selected and select 'Next'

If SQL Server Authentication is being used:

  1. Enter the 'Login ID' and 'password' and select 'next'.
  2. If the connection fails, the login ID and password is not set up on the SQL server or it is entered incorrectly.
  3. Set up the user ID on the SQL server.
  4. If the connection does not fail, verify the correct default database is selected then test the data source.

If Windows NT Authentication is being used:

  1. Verify Windows login has rights on the domain.  Log into the computer as the Administrator and launch FRx.  If the Administrator can log in, the user's Windows login does not have sufficient permissions.

If the logins appear to have sufficient rights and all users are experiencing the error, set up a new DSN.
