Spreadsheets do not update or calculate after pressing the F9 key. This only occurs when using Excel 2003.

Possible Resolution:

Excel 2003 has an 'intelligent calculation engine' enabled that prevents calculations if Excel determines that dependent variables have not changed. For example, although F9 formula cell references themselves may be unchanged since the last calculation, the balances in the accounting system may be different. To force Excel to allow a calculation, press CTRL-ALT-F9 or CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-F9.
